Cormac F. Coyle, MD

Founder
Dr. Coyle has served as a practicing Physician and as Founder, Medical Director and Business Director of Emerald Physicians.  Originally from Ireland, Dr. Coyle graduated from the University of Galway Medical School and completed his medical training in Ireland and England, including working as a Hospitalist.  When he came to the United States, he completed residency at Boston City Hospital.  Dr. Coyle founded Emerald Physicians in 1997, beginning with a small office on Cedar Street in Hyannis.  Today, the practice has thirteen offices located across Cape Cod and a highly skilled staff of over 300 employees.  Dr. Coyle’s philosophy that all patients deserve access to quality medical care has earned him the respect of his colleagues, staff, and over 42,000 patients in our community.

Munir Ahmed, MD, FACP

Dr. Ahmed attended Dow Medical College in Karachi, Pakistan, and completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Connecticut. He is a Fellow at the American College of Physicians and certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. Prior to joining Emerald Physicians, Dr. Ahmed was a hospitalist for seven years at Cape Cod Hospital, and practiced primary care medicine in Falmouth and Sandwich. Additionally, he was the medical director for a local nursing home and for hospice and palliative care. He is currently serving on the board of directors for Cape Cod Preferred Physicians. Dr. Ahmed’s medical interests include preventive care, inpatient care, critical care, diabetes management, hypertension, and obesity. Outside of medicine, he enjoys playing cricket, table tennis, bike riding, and listening to music.Dr. Ahmed sees patients at our new Sandwich office, located at 90 Route 6A, Unit 5A (in the Sextant Hill Office Park).

Jorge Alfonso, MD

Dr. Alfonso attended New York Medical School and Autonomous University of Guadalajara, Mexico. He completed his residency at Stamford Hospital in Stamford, CT. He was in private practice in Fort Pierce, FL, for several years before moving to Cape Cod in 2005.  Prior to practicing medicine at Emerald Physicians, Dr. Alfonso was a Hospitalist at Cape Cod Hospital.Dr. Alfonso sees patients at our 349 Route 28, West Yarmouth office.

Daniel Arnold, MD

Dr. Arnold is a graduate of Providence College and the Tulane University School of Medicine, and a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society.  He completed residency training at Boston Medical Center in 2008, and served as Chief Medical Resident from 2008-2009.  Prior to joining Emerald Physicians, Dr. Arnold was a Hospitalist at Cape Cod Hospital.  His medical interests include inpatient medicine, critical care medicine, care of chronic complex medical problems, and palliative care.  Dr. Arnold and his wife Carly have six young children and enjoy exploring the Cape. Dr. Arnold sees patients at our 433 West Main Street office in Hyannis.

Arthur Crago, MD

Dr. Crago is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts Amherst and Albany Medical College of Union University. He completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford, Connecticut, where he served as chief resident in medicine. At Falmouth Hospital he has been a former chief of department of medicine and president of the medical staff. For 25 years he was co-director of the Falmouth Road Race medical team and continues his volunteer care there. In 2013, he received the Community Clinician of the Year award from the Barnstable County Medical Society. Dr. Crago and his wife Marcia have four children and many grandchildren. His hobbies include photography, biking, boating, and fishing. Dr. Crago sees patients at our office at 33 Edgerton Drive in North Falmouth.

Julie Craig-Muller, MD

Dr. Craig-Muller is a graduate of Stanford University, and attended the University of Tubingen, Germany, Medical School. She completed her medical degree at the University of Minnesota and residency at the Mayo Clinic, St. Cloud Hospital Family Practice Residency. Dr. Craig-Muller practiced General Family Medicine for almost fourteen years with Centracare Clinic of St. Joseph, Minnesota. Additionally, she provided care for the College of St. Benedict, staffing their student health service on a limited basis and advising their nurse practitioner. Dr. Craig Muller’s medical interests include general wellness, women’s health, musculoskeletal health in all ages, allergy, and asthma. She also participated in a Diabetes Care Initiative and helped to successfully improve diabetes outcomes for the Minnesota healthcare system. Dr. Craig-Muller sees patients at our Mashpee Commons office, located at 40 Steeple Street.

Peter Crosson, MD

Dr. Crosson attended New York University. He completed his residency at UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles, California. He worked for a year as a staff physician at Kaiser Permanente Bellflower Medical Center prior to moving back east in 2003. Dr. Crosson is certified in bone densitometry by the International Society of Clinical Densitometry. His special interests include rheumatology and sports medicine, cortisone injections for bursitis and arthritis, osteoporosis, and diabetes management.Dr. Crosson sees patients at our 19B West Yarmouth Road, West Yarmouth office.

Gaurav Dang, MD

Dr. Dang was born in New Delhi, India and moved to the United States with his family when he was 11. He grew up in Winchester, MA and graduated from the University of Massachusetts Amherst with a degree in biology. Dr. Dang pursued his medical degree at St. George’s University in Grenada, West Indies, followed by clinical rotations at Lutheran Hospital and Maimonides Hospital in Brooklyn, New York. He completed his residency in family medicine at Summa Barberton Hospital in Barberton, Ohio and is board-certified in family medicine. Prior to joining Emerald Physicians and moving back to the East coast, Dr. Dang practiced family medicine in Lewiston, PA with Family Heath Associates, an affiliate of Lewiston Hospital.His areas of medical interest include geriatrics care, as he was previously a nursing home medical director for the past 3 years, as well as preventative care. Dr. Dang also has a special interest in caring for acute patient needs such as treatment for urinary tract infections, upper respiratory infections and minor injuries.Outside of medicine, his hobbies include playing and following sports, and he is an avid fan of New England’s sports teams. Additionally, he enjoys spending time with his family, watching movies, and learning about world history through books, shows and travel. Dr. Dang sees patients at our 1421 Orleans Road, Harwich office.

Marcia Franklin, MD

Dr. Franklin attended the Medical College of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia and completed her residency at St. Paul Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. Prior to joining Emerald Physicians, she practiced medicine with Medical Affiliates of Cape Cod. She is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, and a member of Cape Cod Preferred Physicians. Dr. Franklin’s special interests include preventive care and comprehensive medical care.Dr. Franklin sees patients at our Bourne office located at 1 Trowbridge Road.

Amy Gardner, MD, FACP

Dr. Gardner attended Newcomb College of Tulane University as an undergraduate, then attended medical school at the University of California at Davis. After completing her residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Virginia, Charlottesville, she practiced primary care internal medicine in private practice and in an academic medical center. She served as Director of the Oregon Health and Science University Health and Wellness Center for a number of years. Most recently she served as the Medical Director of Harbor Community Health Center caring for the underserved on the Cape and in Plymouth. Additionally, she completed a Master’s of Public Health in Tropical Medicine and enjoys the care and diagnosis of a range of primary care and travel related illnesses. Dr. Gardner is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians and board-certified in Internal Medicine. In her spare time, Dr. Gardner enjoys bicycling, drawing and hiking. Dr. Gardner will begin seeing patients in September at our Cotuit office, located at 3880 Falmouth Road.

Ann Gryboski, MD, MPH

Dr. Gryboski attended Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston, and completed her residency in internal medicine at Faulkner Hospital in Jamaica Plain and Mount Auburn Hospital in Cambridge. Prior to joining Emerald Physicians, she practiced medicine with Medical Affiliates of Cape Cod. Dr. Gryboski is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and a member of Cape Cod Preferred Physicians.Dr. Gryboski sees patients at our new South Yarmouth office located at 495 Station Avenue.

Ruth Holland, MD

Dr. Holland attended medical school and completed her residency in internal medicine at the Medical College of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. After training, she joined a private group practice affiliated with the University of Pennsylvania and then went on to open her own solo practice in Chester County, PA. Her practice encompassed adult general medicine, ages 16 and up, with an emphasis on chronic care management, women’s health, and hospital medicine. She also cared for patients in three nursing homes and a long-term acute care facility. While in Chester County she was involved in a variety of health care reform issues working to improve the County and State healthcare system and to advance healthcare excellence at all levels. Dr. Holland was very active in the Pennsylvania Medical Society, served on the Executive committee of Chester County Hospital and was President of the Chester County Medical Society for the past two years before coming to the Cape.She is board-certified and re-certified in internal medicine. Her professional philosophy is to treat patients as she would wish to be treated and to assist them to the best of her abilities in navigating a complex healthcare system.  Some of her other interests include family, music, horse-back riding, and environmental stewardship and conservation.Dr. Holland sees patients at our office located at 130 North Street in Hyannis.

Joshua Kalter, MD

Dr. Kalter graduated from Yale University and attended Columbia College of Physicians and Surgeons. He completed a medical internship at the University of Cincinnati, Cincinnati General Hospital, and an internal medicine residency at Brown University, Roger Williams Hospital. Dr. Kalter is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. Dr. Kalter is a per diem physician at Emerald Physicians, and has also maintained a private practice in Westfield, MA since 1979. Additionally, he has been the President and Medical Director of Noble Health Alliance for over twenty four years. Dr. Kalter sees patients at our 433 West Main Street office in Hyannis select days each month.

Anna Manatis, MD

Dr. Manatis graduated from Harvard University in 1978 with a BA in Anthropology. She attended New York University School of Medicine and completed an internship in medicine and pediatrics and a residency in internal medicine at Albany Medical Center. In addition, she completed her Masters of Public Health in Occupational and Environmental Health at the Harvard School of Public Health in 2007.Prior to joining Emerald she has been practicing Internal Medicine at the Bulfinch Medical Group at Massachusetts General Hospital since 2009, where she continues as an Instructor of Medicine. She had practiced on the Cape in East Sandwich since 1989 and has been associated with Cape Cod, Falmouth, Jordan and Tobey Hospitals, as well as the Rehabilitation Hospital of the Cape and Islands. She has been involved with the Massachusetts Medical Association as a Trustee and she has also been on the Committee of Environmental and Occupational Health as well as the on the Committee on Public Health. She is currently Vice President of the Barnstable District for the MMS. Her interests involve infectious disease, gene environment interactions in the development of cancer and preventative medicine. Outside of medicine, Dr. Manatis enjoys spending time with her family, as well as kayaking, biking, theatre and traveling. She intends to take up fly fishing in the near future. Dr. Manatis sees patients at our 1421 Orleans Road, Harwich office.

James O’Connor, MD

Dr. O’Connor is a graduate of The College of the Holy Cross and University of Massachusetts Medical School. He completed his residency in internal medicine at Saint Vincent Hospital in Worcester, Massachusetts. He is board certified in internal medicine and has added qualifications in geriatric medicine. He has been the active staff at Falmouth Hospital since 1984 and has served as Chief of Medicine. In 2008, he received the Barnstable County Community Clinician of the Year award from the Massachusetts Medical Society. Dr. O’Connor and his wife Anne live in North Falmouth and have four children. Dr. O’Connor sees patients at our 33 Edgerton Drive office in North Falmouth.

Miguel Prieto, MD

Dr. Prieto attended the Universidad Central de Venezuela and completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Connecticut Health Center, Farmington. Prior to joining Emerald Physicians, he practiced medicine with Medical Affiliates of Cape Cod. He is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, and a member of Cape Cod Preferred Physicians. Mahmood Rana, MD

Dr. Mahmood Rana is a board certified physician who received his medical training at Tufts University, the University of Vermont and Texas A&M University Health Science Center. During his medical training he held a position at President House Staff Association TAMUHSC and was a member of P&T Committee and other administrative bodies. Dr. Rana received a Top American Family Physician Award in 2007 and 2008.He is inspired by his ability to slow or prevent the manifestation of disease and believes that a holistic philosophy is essential for building strong relationships with patients. Dr. Rana enjoys working in a supportive and caring environment among colleagues who are passionate about their profession and assist one another when necessary. Matthew Rittel, MD

Dr. Rittel attended Georgetown University School of Medicine in Washington, DC. He completed his internship and residency at Georgetown University Medical Center. Dr Rittel is interested in all aspects of internal medicine, but puts strong emphasis on disease prevention in the care of his patients. Healthy lifestyle and diet changes are always used first whenever possible to obtain treatment goals. He enjoys the continuity of care among his patients on the Cape and sees adult patients of all ages and backgrounds. John H. Shackelford, Jr., DO

Dr. Shackelford attended Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences, Kansas City, Missouri and completed a combined residency in internal medicine and pediatrics at the University of Massachusetts Medical School in Worcester, Massachusetts. Prior to joining Emerald Physicians, he practiced primary care medicine with Medical Affiliates of Cape Cod at the Fontaine Medical Center in Harwich, as well as urgent care on Cape Cod and the South Shore. He is board-certified by the American Board of Osteopathic Internal Medicine. Kumara Sidhartha, MD, MPH

Kumara Sidhartha MD, MPH completed medical school training at the Government Mohan Kumaramangalam Medical College in Salem, India. After moving to the U.S., he completed his residency training in Internal Medicine at Lincoln Medical and Mental Health Center – affiliated with Cornell University, New York. He is a graduate of the Master of Public Health (MPH) in Nutrition program at the School of Public Health and Department of Nutrition at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, MA (USA). He is certified in Plant-Based Nutrition by eCornell University and Colin Campbell Foundation in New York. In order to seek the most effective and least toxic treatment for challenging conditions such as cancer and autoimmune disease, he pursued biological medical training to become a diplomat of European Biological Medicine, a nutrition-centered natural therapeutic philosophy practiced at Paracelsus Klinik in Switzerland. He is board-certified in the American Board of Internal Medicine. His patients benefit from his guidance in nutritional treatments to prevent and treat chronic diseases such as diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease and arthritis. His interest in sustainable and ethical food production led him to study permaculture design under the Permaculture Institute of USA (New Mexico). He is the founder and president of the Institute of Inter-connected Communities of India (IICC India), a not-for-profit organization with the mission to create role model communities that are healthy, sustainable, self-reliant and resilient. He regularly speaks among the public and professional community on the subjects of nutrition, health, and environmental sustainability – both in the Northeast US and in India (http://vimeo.com/29747234). Arash Tadbiri, MD

Dr. Tadbiri attended the Ghazvin University of Medical Sciences in Iran, and completed his residency in family medicine at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. Prior to joining Emerald Physicians, he practiced medicine with Medical Affiliates of Cape Cod. He is certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and Geriatric Medicine. Additionally, he has a fellowship in geriatrics at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Brunswick, NJ. Dr. Tadbiri’s special interests include preventive medicine, diabetes management, and geriatrics. He also conducts DOT (Department of Transportation) physical exams. James Boyd Vereen, DO

Dr. Vereen attended The University of Health Sciences, College of Osteopathic Medicine, Kansas City, MO and completed his residency at HCA Doctors Hospital, Tucker, GA (Family Practice). Lisa Weinstein-Moreno, MD

Dr. Moreno grew up in New York City. She attended the Medical College of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. She completed her internship and residency at the Medical College of Pennsylvania as well. Dr. Moreno was in Private Practice in Hallandale, FL and Warren, MI for 8 years prior to moving to the Cape in 2004. She worked as a Hospitalist at Cape Cod Hospital for 4 years prior to joining Emerald Physicians. Keith Wright, DO

Dr. Wright is a graduate of Michigan Technological University and received his medical degree at Michigan State University – College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed a special emphasis internship in family practice at Mercy General Health Partners in Muskegon, MI, as well as his family practice residency. Dr. Wright is board certified by the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians. Prior to joining Emerald Physicians, Dr. Wright practiced Family Medicine with Rogers City Medical Group PC in Rogers City, MI. His areas of special interest within family medicine include geriatrics, cardiology, dermatology, and general practice. Jennifer August, PA-C

Jennifer August is board-certified Physician Assistant who has practiced on Cape Cod for the past 13 years. She received her BS in Medical Biology and her Masters of Science in Physician Assistance Studies from the University of New England. After graduation, Jennifer worked at the Duffy Health Center where she provided primary care services. She also created policies regarding standards of care for diabetes management, was the team leader/provider champion for the Diabetes Health Disparities Collaborative and was the liaison between the Duffy Health Center and Massachusetts League of Community Health Centers.Most recently, Jennifer has been working in Endocrinology with a primary focus on diabetes management/care. She was recently recognized by the NCQA Diabetes Recognition Program for providing the highest level of diabetes care.Outside of medicine she enjoys spending time with her husband and two children, skiing, biking, and camping.Jennifer sees patients at our 40 Steeple Street office in Mashpee and at our 130 North Street office in Hyannis.

Junean Engelsen, MS, PA-C

Junean Engelsen is a graduate from Springfield College with a Masters of Science in Physician Assistant studies, and board-certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. Prior to this she successfully completed her Bachelors degree in Biology with pre-medical focus at the University of Massachusetts in Amherst. She is a member of both the Massachusetts Association of Physician Assistants (MAPA) and the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA). Preceding her employment with Emerald, Junean worked as a Hospitalist PA at Falmouth Hospital providing acute inpatient care. She was raised on Cape Cod and is happy to reside here with her husband and son. Her special interests include general wellness, preventative medicine, and cardiovascular health. Junean sees patients at our 130 North Street, Hyannis office.

Lauralee Ferriell, PA-C

Lauralee is a board-certified Physician Assistant who graduated with a Masters of Health Sciences from the University of South Alabama. She received a Bachelor of Science degree from the United States Naval Academy where she graduated cum laude. Lauralee served as an Active Duty Naval Officer for 8 years prior to becoming a Physician Assistant. She is a member of the Alpha Eta Allied Health Professions Honor Society, the Massachusetts Association of Physician Assistants, and the American Academy of Physician Assistants. She has also completed the Hyperbaric Medicine Team Training and Wound Care Course in San Antonio, TX. Prior to joining Emerald Physicians, she worked as a Cardiovascular and Thoracic surgery PA and as a Wound Care provider. Her special interests include cardiovascular health and preventative medicine. Lauralee lives in Plymouth with her husband and 3 children. Margaret Gladski, PA-C

Margaret (“Maggie”) Gladski is a graduate from Quinnipiac University with a Masters in Health Science in Physician Assistant studies and board certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. Her undergraduate studies were from Smith College in Northampton, MA with Biology and Psychology majors. She is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA) and of the American Association of Diabetes Educators (AADE). She also is board certified in advanced diabetes management (BC-ADM). Preceding her employment with Falmouth Primary Care Group, she worked in the medical intensive care unit at Hartford Hospital. Her special interests include health and wellness promotion, diabetes management, and nutrition. She is an avid runner/marathoner and outdoor enthusiast and is passionate about getting patients to feel their best with nutrition and exercise. She was raised in western Massachusetts and resides in Cape Cod with her husband. Maggie sees patients at our Falmouth office located at 90 Ter Heun Drive, Suite 2300.

Marie Hartley, PA-C

Marie Hartley attended the Physician Assistant Program at Stony Brook University on Long Island, NY, where she graduated cum laude. She completed her Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Nebraska. Since 2001, she has worked in Internal Medicine on Cape Cod joining Emerald Physicians in August, 2010.  Marie’s interests include disease prevention, orthopedics, women’s health and helping her patients find alternatives to pharmacological treatments. When she is not practicing medicine, Marie enjoys singing, bicycling and spending time with her family.Marie sees patients at our Harwich office located at 1421 Orleans Road in the 400 East Plaza.

Michael Kelley, PA-C

Michael Kelley is a graduate from Arcadia University with a Masters of Science in Physician Assistant studies and a Masters in Public Health. He is board-certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. Prior to this, he successfully completed a Bachelors of Science in Microbiology at the University of New Hampshire in Durham, New Hampshire. He is a member of both the Massachusetts Association of Physician Assistants (MAPA) and the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA). Prior to joining Emerald Physicians, Michael worked as an Occupational Medicine PA, at Omega Medical Center in Newark, Delaware. His special interests include health education, general wellness, preventive medicine, and mens’ health. He was raised on the South Shore and spent a great deal of time on the Cape during his childhood. Michael sees patients at our 1 Trowbridge, Bourne office.

Andrea Lyonnais, PA-C

Andrea received her bachelor’s degree in exercise physiology from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. She attended the Physician Assistant program at Northeastern University in Boston where she received her master’s degree in health sciences and physician assistant studies. Following graduation from Northeastern she moved to Bakersfield, California where she worked in family medicine at a community health center.Andrea was a member of the National Health Service Corps, working in an underserved medical community during her 4 years in Bakersfield. In October 2007 she and her husband moved back to the east coast and in December she started working at Emerald Physicians. Emily Michael is a graduate from Springfield College with a Bachelors degree in Health Studies and a Masters of Science in Physician Assistant studies, and board-certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. Prior to working at Emerald Physicians, Emily worked for five years with Medical Affiliates of Cape Cod in Bourne providing primary care. Her special interests include women’s health, preventative medicine, and geriatrics. Diana Andrusyshyn, FNP-BC

Diana received her B.S.N. from University of CT, her M.B.A. in Health Care Administration from Sacred Heart University and her M.S.N. Family Nurse Practitioner from Fairfield, CT. She has an extensive background in both the clinical and professional area. She has worked as a Project Manager and Director of Case Management at Anthem Blue Cross, Care Manager at MetLife, an NP at Cardiology Assoc for Fairfield County, a Clinical Applications Analyst for Epic at Yale New Haven Health System, and most recently as an NP in Interventional Radiology at Yale New Haven Hospital. Diana has a special medical interest in heart health. In her spare time, Diana’s hobbies include spending time with friends and family, and exploring new beaches.Diana sees patients at our 1421 Orleans Road, Harwich office.

Elizabeth Dunton, MSN, WHNP-BC

Elizabeth is a graduate from Boston College with a baccalaureate degree and Master of Science in Nursing. She is a member of both the Sigma Theta Tau (International Honor Society of Nursing) and the Association of Women’s Health Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN). She is also the Practice Administrator of Emerald Physicians. Elizabeth’s special interests include gynecology and fertility counseling.

Courtney DiPaolo Whelan, FNP-BC

Courtney is a graduate of the University of Vermont, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Technology. She completed her graduate studies at Regis College, where she received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Master of Science in Nursing, Family Nurse Practitioner. Courtney is board certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. Prior to joining Emerald Physicians, she practiced locally as a Family Nurse Practitioner in both Primary and Urgent Care settings. Sue Harrington, DNP, APRN-BC, ANP-BC

Sue graduated from Simmons College with a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree and a Master of Science degree in Nursing. She graduated Boston University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing. She has been an adjunct instructor and student preceptor at Simmons Graduate School for Nurse Practitioners. She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau (International Honor Society of Nursing) and the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (ANCC). She is the Practice Clinical Manager of Emerald Physicians. Debbie Landry, DNP, APRN-BC, FNP-BC

Debbie is a family Nurse Practitioner and a graduate of the University of Southern Indiana where she received a Masters of Science degree. Prior to becoming a nurse practitioner, she worked locally as a registered nurse with experience in acute and critical care. Debbie is a member of Sigma Theta Tau and the Massachusetts Coalition of Nurse Practitioners. Her special interests include health promotion and prevention, and she also conducts Home Visits to homebound patients. Heather Malcomson, ANP-BC

Heather graduated magna cum laude from Simmons College with a baccalaureate degree in nursing and a masters degree in nursing, as well as magna cum laude from Montana State University-Bozeman with a baccalaureate degree in community health. She received the Clinical Excellence Award in May 2006 from Simmons College. Heather is a member of the Sigma Theta Tau and Massachusetts Coalition of Nurse Practitioners. Kelley received her Bachelor and Master of Science degrees in nursing from Boston College, where she graduated summa cum laude. Prior to joining Emerald Physicians, Kelley worked as a registered nurse at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in gynecology-oncology and as a nurse practitioner at Massachusetts General Hospital in hospital based medicine. Kelley’s favorite part of being a nurse practitioner is partnering with her patients to achieve their goals for function, health and wellness. Nancy O’Connor, ANP-BC

Nancy graduated from Simmons College in Boston with a Master of Science degree as an Adult Nurse Practitioner and from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Education. Nancy is an active member of the Massachusetts Coalition of Nurse Practitioners. Her areas of special interest include cardiology, wellness care and healthcare of the older adult. When Nancy isn’t caring for patients, she is active in yoga, bicycling and is an avid runner. She lives in Yarmouthport with her family. Barbara Robinson, MSN, APRN-BC

Barbara is an Adult Nurse Practitioner, who received a Master of Science Degree from the University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth in 2004. She is certified by the American Nurse Credentialing Center as an Adult Nurse Practitioner. Barbara has over 20 years of critical care nursing experience. Nicole graduated from St. Lawrence University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology. Upon completion of her undergraduate education, Nicole worked for the Harvard School of Public Health and Brigham and Women’s Hospital in research for the Nurses Health Study. Nicole then attended Simmons College where she received her Masters degree in nursing. She received the Clinical Excellence Award in May 2007 from Simmons College. She was as well the recipient of the Federal Nurse Traineeship Award. Nicole is a board certified Adult Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center and a member of the Massachusetts Coalition of Nurse Practitioners. Her areas of medical interest include disease prevention, comprehensive medical care, health and wellness promotion with a focus on education for patient empowerment. Beth McGarry Sheehan, MSN, FNP-BC

Beth graduated from Vanderbilt University with a Masters in Science in Nursing in 1995. She is a member of the nursing honor society, Sigma Theta Tau and the Massachusetts Coalition of Nurse Practitioners. She is certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center as a Family Nurse Practitioner.Beth graduated from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst in 1989 with a BA in Anthropology, with a strong interest in Medical Anthropology. Beth has practiced as a Family Nurse Practitioner in conventional and holistic settings since 1995.An ongoing student of Energetic Healing modalities, Beth studied Homeopathy for six years and is an experienced practitioner of Homeopathy. Kim Small, MSN, FNP-BC

Kim is a Family Nurse Practitioner and graduated with a masters in nursing from the University of Lowell in 1986. She is certified as a Nurse Practitioner through the American Nurses Credentialing Center, is a member of the Sigma Theta Tau Nursing Honor Society, and holds certification as a personal trainer and fitness practitioner through the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America. She has twenty eight years of experience as a nurse practitioner working in primary care and women’s health. Karen Smith-Rohrberg, MSN, FNP-BC

Karen obtained her Bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Maryland School of Nursing and her Masters of Science in Primary School Nursing at Northeastern University’s Graduate School of Nursing in Boston. Additionally, she completed a post-graduate nursing fellowship program for nurse practitioners in adolescent health care. Karen is certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center as a Family Nurse Practitioner. Prior to joining Emerald Physicians, she practiced as a family nurse practitioner in the North Falmouth medical office of Dr. James O’Connor since 1997. Karen’s extensive experience also includes nursing for Cape Cod Hospital and Boston City Health and Hospital, home care, and women’s health, as well as practicing as a pediatric nurse practitioner for Middleboro Pediatrics. Diane Wheeler, MSN, ANP-BC

Diane graduated from Salem State University with a BSN in 1982 and served in the armed services for three years as a personnel specialist. She then worked as a critical care travel nurse, and later as a critical care nurse in local hospitals. Diane graduated from UMass-Dartmouth with a MSN in 1999. She is a member of the Mass Coalition of Nurse Practitioners and is certified as an Adult Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. Diane’s special interests are heart health, lyme disease, diabetes and encouraging patients to participate in mutual goal planning for their care. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, including three grandchildren, as well as biking, scrapbooking and reading.Diane sees patients at our new South Yarmouth office located at 495 Station Avenue.
