Dr. Ruth Holland
Ruth HollandDr. Holland attended medical school and completed her residency in Internal Medicine at the Medical College of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. After training, she joined a private group practice affiliated with the University of Pennsylvania and then went on to open her own solo practice in Chester County, PA.

Her practice encompassed adult general medicine, ages 16 and up, with an emphasis on chronic care management, women's health, and hospital medicine. She also cared for patients in three nursing homes and a long-term acute care facility. While in Chester County she was involved in a variety of health care reform issues working to improve the County and State healthcare system and to advance healthcare excellence at all levels. Dr. Holland was very active in the Pennsylvania Medical Society, served on the Executive committee of Chester County Hospital and was President of the Chester County Medical Society for the past two years before coming to the Cape.

She is board-certified and re-certified in Internal Medicine. Her professional philosophy is to treat patients as she would wish to be treated and to assist them to the best of her abilities in navigating a complex healthcare system. Dr. Holland will see patients at our office at 433 West Main Street in Hyannis.

Some of her other interests include family, music, horse-back riding, and environmental stewardship and conservation.

Dr. Daniel Arnold
Daniel ArnoldDr. Arnold graduated from Providence College and the Tulane University School of Medicine, and is a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. Dr. Arnold completed residency training at Boston Medical Center in 2008, and served as Chief Medical Resident from 2008-2009. Prior to joining Emerald Physicians, he was an inpatient Hospitalist at Cape Cod Hospital. His medical interests include inpatient medicine, critical care medicine, care of chronic complex medical problems, and palliative care. Dr. Arnold and his wife Carly have four young children and enjoy exploring the Cape.

Dr. Joseph James Pierce, III
Dr. PierceDr. Pierce is a board-certified internal medicine physician who moved to Cape Cod with his family in 2007. Prior to joining Emerald Physicians, he was formerly with the Bourne Health Center. Dr. Pierce graduated with a degree in Aerospace Engineering in 1984 and was an aerospace engineer in the United States Air Force for five years. He returned to school to study medicine at the Medical College of Pennsylvania and completed an internship and residency at Keesler Air Force Base in Mississippi. Dr. Pierce was a chief of internal medicine for the United States Air Force at bases in Panama City, Turkey, and South Carolina, and has also worked in private practice in Pennsylvania and the Boston area. In 2010, Dr. Pierce was commissioned by the United States Navy and serves as a Commander and physician in the Naval Reserves. His special interests include clinical nutrition and diabetes management. When not treating patients, Dr. Pierce enjoys spending time with his wife and three daughters, reading and traveling.
